Philippines Silahis ng Kalusugan General Hospital – Rotary Club of Blacktown City Inc.
The Rotary Club of Intramuros, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Blacktown City, brings ‘Teacher in a Box’ to Silahis ng Kalusugan, the Philippine General Hospital school for children, mostly with cancer and are unable to attend regular schools. The school is attended by both Elementary and High School students.
The amazing enthusiasm of the young students with their warm smiles in welcoming and learning the KA Lite even in adversity are so inspirational which make this project so worthwhile.
On 9 November 2017, President Aries Balanay together with Past President Florencio Naguit and other members of the Rotary Club of Intramuros conducted a teach-in on KA Lite lessons to the students. They also handed over 55″ Samsung smart TV, 4 cell phones, and the KA Lite server for ‘Teacher in the Box.”
Congratulations Rotary Club of Intramuros for this successful project and thank you for partnering with our Club, the Rotary Club of Blacktown City.

A follow up visit to the Philippine General Hospital Silahis ng Kalusugan Special School for Chronically Ill Children, where in partnership, Rotary Clubs of Intramuros and Blacktown City brought Teacher in a Box with KA Lite modules. It was touching to witness the enthusiasm and cheerfulness of the children during their class using the KALite maths modules, inspite of their illness and medical procedures they go thru. The passion and care of teacher Ms Annie greatly helps in lifting the spirit of the children. Just so happy with the visit with RCI President Aries Balanay, PP Floren Naguit, other officers of Rotary Club of Intramuros and Blacktown City Rotarian Atoy Sayas.

What a fantastic Teacher in a Box! Its heartwarming to see these bright young minds, even battling the big C, diving into maths with such KALite enthusiasm. Seriously, who needs regular school when youve got a Samsung smart TV and a teachers dedication? And poor Ms. Annie, lifting spirits while probably lifting heavy medical equipment at the same time – truly the unsung hero. Blacktown and Intramuros, youre doing the Philippine General Hospital school proud! Keep bringing that techy hope, even if its just via a box. Wow, Teacher in a Box sounds like the educational equivalent of a lifeline, especially for those young souls navigating the tricky business of illness! Bringing math modules and a Samsung TV into that environment is incredibly heartwarming – probably more engaging than trying to explain why they cant have ice cream for breakfast. The kids enthusiasm is truly the KA Lite of inspiration, shining right through! And kudos to the Rotary teams for rolling up their sleeves and bringing this success story to life. Its a prime example of community spirit making a difference, even if it does involve tech and teaching amidst the unexpected!titanium and steel
